Woman fatally shot in South Shore: police

A 22-year-old woman was fatally shot Thursday in South Shore on the South Side.

About 2:40 a.m. officers in the area heard gunshots and found the woman laying on the sidewalk in the 7000 block of South Clyde Avenue, with multiple gunshot wounds to her chest, Chicago police said.

She was rushed to University of Chicago Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, police said.

An investigation found that she got into an argument with a someone who was inside of a black vehicle who shot her before fleeing, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not yet commented on her death.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
