Woman fatally pinned between vehicle and garage in Little Village

A witness told investigators they heard a “big boom.”

A woman died after she was pinned between a vehicle and a garage Monday in Little Village on the Southwest Side.

Ana Hernandez, 47, was involved in the crash about 8:10 a.m. in the 2300 block of South Hamlin Avenue, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, Chicago police said.

A witness told investigators they saw Hernandez in an alley shortly before the crash, and then heard a “big boom,” police said.

Chicago police did not offer details about the crash, but said detectives were conducting a death investigation.

An autopsy released Tuesday found Hernandez died of multiple injuries from being pinned between an vehicle and a garage, the medical examiner’s office said.
