AN UNLICENSED driver who led police on a pursuit north of Muswellbrook has pleaded guilty to 29 offences and been refused bail.
Fagain Maureen McMulkin-Faithful, 27, of Broken Hill, appeared in Muswellbrook Local Court on Monday where she pleaded guilty to a string of offences, including police pursuit, reckless driving, refusing to submit to a breath test, four counts of dishonestly obtaining property by deception and five counts of driving with a license that had been expired for more than two years.
Ms McMulkin-Faithful - who is an unlicensed driver - also admitted to altering her number plates using mailbox stickers to avoid detection.
Hunter Valley police say they were patrolling the New England Highway at Blandford, about 60km north of Muswellbrook, about 6pm on Sunday when they attempted to stop a Great Wall X240 utility.
When the utility failed to stop, a police pursuit was initiated. It was terminated a short time later due to safety concerns.
The vehicle was later located parked in a carpark in Little Street, Murrurundi, and Ms McMulkin-Faithful was arrested nearby. She refused to undergo a roadside breath test and was taken to Muswellbrook police station where she was charged with 29 offences.
Ms McMulkin-Faithful did not apply for bail on Monday and the matter was adjourned for her to be sentenced on April 20.
