A Victorian woman has faced court after being charged with the murder of a 71-year-old man in the state's west.
Jodie Rebecca Hill, 42, appeared before Ballarat Magistrates Court on Thursday morning, where her lawyer did not make an application for bail.
She has been charged with the murder of John Lindsay Hunter in Dimboola near the South Australian border, between January 20 and 23 this year.
Mr Hunter was found dead at his property on Victoria Street on January 23.
Hill's lawyer Mario Saoud said she was released from hospital just two days before her arrest on Wednesday, after suffering an infection to a knee wound.
"Your Honour, Ms Hill is currently suffering from a deep tissue infection on her knee. She was recently released from hospital, on Monday, she's on pain medication in relation to that," he told the court.
He requested Hill be seen by a nurse and said it was not her first time in custody.
On February 3, a 54-year-old man from Dimboola was also charged with murder over Mr Hunter's death.
Hill and her co-accused have both been remanded to face Horsham Magistrates Court on July 26.
