The skincare market is flooded with endless lotions, creams and treatments that promise a whole host of complexion-perfecting benefits, but the sheer amount of choice can feel overwhelming. Add the pressures of new skincare trends as well as multiple step beauty routines and you're left feeling stuck with where to begin.
It turns out that our skincare regimes don't always have to be so complicated as there's one product that people are ditching from their routines thanks to a new hack. It's the last item on your bathroom shelf that you'd expect to say goodbye too, but beauty buffs are raving about the results.
One woman has revealed that she'll 'never buy deodorant again' thanks to a 'life-changing' hack that banishes any bodily odour without using a spray or roll-on.
Taking to TikTok to praise the skincare trick, the woman, who posts under the username @ BambiDoesBeauty says that she uses a benzol peroxide cleanser in the shower which stops her armpits from smelling.
The woman said: "I don't know who needs to hear this but this secret to getting rid of body odour isn't deodorant.
"You know when people say 'this beauty hack is gonna change your life'? well, this beauty hack actually is going to change your life".
"Use a benzol peroxide cleanser on your armpits. Leave on for like a minute then wash off as normal. What this does is get rid of the bad bacteria," she explains.
"So basically sweat is odourless. Your sweat doesn't smell, it's the bacteria that causes it to smell. This gets rid of the bacteria. You won't need to use deodorant. Thank me later".
The video has since gone viral on the app, amassing 1.5 million views in four days, as people are surprised by the trick that allegedly alleviates body odour.
Dermatologists also swear by the hack, as Dr. Lindsey Zubritsky explains on the app: "It kills acne-causing bacteria which reduces the odour under our arms. It also works for feet odour for the exact same thing".
Raving about the multi-purpose cleanser, Lindsey continued: "It doesn't just treat acne of the face, it treats acne of the check and back as well. And butt acne too".
Hundreds of people have commented on @BambiDoesBeauty's video, with one writing: "I’ve always done this".
Another said: "This is [100%] TRUE!! I use the store brand of Panoxyl it works so well!!"
After plenty of others asked the video creator which cleanser she uses, the woman confirmed that she uses Panoxyl, which she says you can buy on Amazon in the UK.
Some commenters asked if it was safe to use daily, and while the creator is yet to reply in the comments, the Panoxyl website suggests: "Start out applying once daily. You can increase to two or three times daily if needed or recommended by a doctor".
