Woman embroiled in hair dispute at top salon claims new cut was ‘a mess’

A woman has become embroiled in an online beauty dispute after she claimed having to go home and re-style her new hairdo.

The woman, only known as Sarah, made the audacious claims in a Google Review.

She revealed it was a ‘last-minute’ decision to visit Alexander Hair and Beauty, a ‘highly-rated salon’.

Sarah asked for a ‘curly blow dry’ for a hen party she was going to but insists she had to re-style it herself.

In her review Sarah claimed she asked for curls, but was left upset after the end result came out the Anlaby shop looking ‘a mess’.

The salon, which was sold by award-winning stylist Alexander Turnbull last year to new ownership, blamed “lack of communication” for the woman’s dissatisfaction, according to a report in the Hull Daily Mail.

Posting on the hair salon’s Google Reviews, Sarah said: “Went for a curly blow dry and this is the result. I used to come here all the time when Alex was around.

“I had to restyle it myself because it was that much of a mess, which that itself was difficult because she put on too much hair spray making it stiff and straw.

“It blows my mind how they both said it looks nice and left me to leave the salon knowing that I was going out for a hen do.

"It’s upsetting. I definitely won’t be coming here again as a last minute decision when going out.”

A spokesman for the salon said: “I saw the review, she was a client who came in two weeks ago for a blow dry and I think she mis-communicated to the stylist.

“Her stylist did normal curls but she didn’t like it. I am not sure what went wrong, I think it was just a lack of communication.”

The salon says their styling and technical team “are some of the very best in Yorkshire.”
