INDORE: A married woman was allegedly drugged and raped by a man in Banganga area, the police said on Sunday. Officials said that three persons including a woman have been booked in the case.

The 25-year-old woman in her complaint to Banganga police on Saturday night alleged that the accused Mithun Jataw, a resident of Dharampuri, Lala alias Taamil Shah and Komal Jataw - both residents of Sanwer, had in December last year invited her to a house in Bhawani Nagar area, and offered her breakfast laced with sedatives, which made her unconscious. When she regained consciousness, found herself in a compromising position. The accused Mithun told her that he had raped her and also claimed have taken her pictures in compromising positions.

He told her not to inform anyone about the incident and threatened to make them viral on social media. The woman alleged that the accused kept threatening her and raped her several times. Having no other options left, the woman informed her husband about her ordeal, and later approached the police and filed a complaint.

Officials said that a case under 376, 376-2, 323, 506 and other relevant sections of IPC has been registered on the basis of her complaint.

“All three accused of the case have been arrested and we are looking into it,” the police said.

(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
