Woman drives car off wall and careers through a fence at West Lothian garage

A woman has crashed through a fence before falling from a wall and smashing into parked cars underneath at a West Lothian garage.

The 62-year-old was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after the incident happened near Kwik Fit on Carmondean Centre Road in Livingston around 12.50pm on Wednesday, January 12.

One onlooker said: "A woman was not in control of her car. Reversed right through the forecourt hitting two cars before falling out of her car.

"The car then went crashing through the fence over the wall and into Kwik Fit and landing on top of another car. Seen it all."

The woman was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. Her condition is described as "serious".

Police say their enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.50 pm on Wednesday, January 12, police received a report of a vehicle having crashed after falling from a wall in Carmondean Centre Road, Carmondean, Livingston and causing damage to other parked vehicles.

“The 62-year-old female driver was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries.

“Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident continue.”
