Woman discovers 39p hack to stop her trousers dragging on the floor - with no sewing

If you've ever bought trousers that are a little too long for your legs, then you'll know how irritating it can be when they drag on the floor, as not only do you risk ruining them, but they can also be a tripping hazard.

Thankfully, one woman has come up with the perfect solution to stop long trousers from touching the floor without needing to break out the sewing kit to adjust the hems.

Marly Neissa took to TikTok to share her genius hack, which simply involved using fashion tape to stick the hem of her trousers to the boots she was wearing, so they would stop just short of the floor.

In her video - posted to her @mneissa23 account - the woman was wearing leggings with flared bottoms alongside a pair of Ugg boots, and used the double-sided tape to stick her leggings to her boots.

She wrote on the clip: "Using fashion tape so my leggings don't drag on the floor."

Marly then showed the tape she had used, which was the Fearless body and clothing tape.

The exact brand Marly used in her video can be bought for £19.30 from Amazon for a 50-strip pack, meaning each strip of tape costs you just 39p. You can also pick up Eylure Body Tape from Boots for £5, while Shein sells a 60-piece pack of double-sided tape for just £1.50.

And in a second video, the woman answered a common question viewers had after seeing her hack - does the tape damage her boots?

She explained: "So I got a few comments asking this question. As you can see in the video, I removed the tape but I noticed a little bit of fabric came off. I just used my finger to smooth it out and it was fine."

Most commenters on Marly's video - which has over two million views - were blown away by the simple trick, with many of them questioning why they'd never thought of doing it themselves.

One person said: "This is smart! I usually just tuck a little of the back into my sock."

While another added: "Why did I never think of this?"

And a third wrote: "This is genius."
