Woman dies weeks after shooting in South Chicago

A woman who was wounded in a South Chicago shooting in June has died from her injuries.

Vera Howard, 23, was pronounced at 3:34 a.m. Sunday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

She was shot in the head about 5:40 a.m. June 6 in the 8500 block of South Muskegon Avenue, the medical examiner’s office said.

Chicago police did not immediately provide details.
