A 71-year-old woman has died weeks after crashing into a car and building in Mount Greenwood on the Southwest Side.

Constance Dewilkins was pronounced dead 6:15 p.m. on Aug. 13 at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Dewilkins, who lived in Alsip, died of complications from a motor vehicle collision July 22 in the 4000 block of West 115th, the medical examiner’s office said.

She was driving a Toyota Corolla east on 115th Street when she drove through a solid red light at Karlov and struck an oncoming vehicle turning left, Chicago police said.

The Toyota continued moving after the crash through a parking lot and hit a commercial business, police said.

Dewilkins, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was taken to Christ Medical Center, authorities said. The driver and juvenile passenger of the other vehicle declined medical attention. No citations were issued, police said.
