Woman dead, three injured after boat crashes into Brisbane jetty

Paramedics attempted to save the woman but she died a short time after crews got there.

A woman, 21, has died, and two men and a toddler have been injured in a boating accident on the Brisbane River.

The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) said a boat crashed into a private jetty on Laurel Avenue at the Chelmer reach just after 4:30pm.

Multiple crews were called to the scene.

Police said the woman most likely suffered a head injury when she was tossed from the boat.

Paramedics attempted to save the woman but she died a short time later.

The ABC understands all involved were members of the same family.

A QAS spokesperson said the two men were taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, while the toddler was taken to the Queensland Children’s Hospital.

All are in a stable condition.

The forensic crash unit is investigating.
