Detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a Melbourne woman overnight just prior to finding a man's body at the base of a building.
Officers were called to an apartment in Church Street, Richmond at 3.20am Saturday.
The woman, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
Shortly after, police were notified about 4am of a man's body found at the base of a building at the intersection of Spencer and Little Collins streets in the CBD.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
Police believe the woman and man were known to each other.
