A woman has died in a serious crash involving three vehicles in Livingston .
Police were alerted to reports of a serious road collision at Cousland Road at around 3.20pm on Wednesday afternoon.
A woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four people were rushed to hospital after the collision.
The extent of their injuries is unknown.
Officers moved quickly to shut down the road at Mill Roundabout and the Hospital Interchange.
Drivers have been urged to avoid the area while road closures remain in place.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “The road is closed and diversions are in place.”
