A woman hit by a car on Christmas Eve has died in hospital.
The pedestrian, struck by a vehicle on a local road at Carrowmanagh, Oughterard, Co Galway at 8.45pm on December 24, has been named as Lucy Goggin.
The 52-year-old was seriously injured in the collision and was rushed to University Hospital Galway by ambulance.
It's believed she had been walking home from her job in a hotel in the village of Oughterard at the time.
Lucy passed away in hospital on St Stephen's Day.
The driver of the car wasn’t injured in the incident.
A Garda spokesman said at the time: "Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and in particular to anyone who travelled between Oughterard and Carrowmanagh between approximately 8pm and 9pm to contact them.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Salthill Garda Station 091-514 720 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
"Investigations are ongoing."
