A woman has died following a car crash in Southport.
The woman, who was in her 80s, is believed to have suffered a "medical episode" at the wheel.
Emergency services rushed to Burnley Road in Ainsdale yesterday afternoon (Thursday).

People living in the area reported seeing helicopters flying overhead, with one woman saying she had "never heard so many sirens".
A police cordon was in place at the scene.
A Merseyside Police spokeswoman told the ECHO : "At around 3.10pm yesterday we received a report that a blue Honda Jazz was in collision with a parked vehicle on Burnley Road.
"The driver, a female in her 80s, is believed to have suffered a medical episode at the wheel.
"She was taken to hospital in a critical condition but has since sadly passed away.
"Her next of kin have been informed.
"Road closures were in place on Burnley Road and have since been lifted."
