A woman has died after what police are describing as an 'incident' on the M876 in Falkirk last night.
Emergency services rushed to the Westbound carriageway at junction 2, at around 5:05pm on Thursday May 27.
Officers had received reports about a concern for person seen in the area.
A number of police and ambulance crews were spotted at the scene with long tailbacks of traffic during the evening rush hour.
The road was closed for around 3 hours while the incident was dealt with, but today it has been confirmed that the 61-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
