A woman has died after falling out of a rear passenger seat of a car and onto the road, police have said.
Officers were called at 6.36pm to the incident in Earlham Road in Colney in Norfolk on Saturday.
Witnesses had reported seeing a woman falling out of the back door of a black Peugeot.
The woman, in her 40s, sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.
Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the vehicle on the B1108 before the incident, or who had dashcam footage from around the time to get in touch.
A Norfolk Police spokeswoman said: "[We] are appealing for witnesses after a woman fell from a car on the B1108 in Colney on Saturday (4 June 2022) evening.
"Emergency services were called at 6.36pm to the incident in Earlham Road in Colney following reports a woman had fallen out of the rear passenger seat of a black Peugeot sustaining serious injuries.
"Sadly the women, in her 40s, was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.
"Closures were in place at the Watton Road/Colney Lane junction, Wilberforce Road junction and the roundabout at Dodderman Way, Tollgate Way and Threescore Road until Sunday morning.
"Anyone who has dash cam footage or witnessed the vehicle prior to the collision should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at OCC at Norfolk Constabulary."
