A woman has died after a car crash this morning (April 5).
She was trapped in a vehicle after it was left in a ditch following the two car collision.
The crash happened on the B3139, just off the A37, near the the Emborough Lakes in Somerset.
Emergency services were called shortly after 8.30am and the woman was treated at the scene.
She sadly passed away shortly afterwards.
Avon and Somerset Constabulary said the male occupant of the other vehicle does not appear to have been injured.
The force said the road is set to remain closed for the foreseeable future, whilst collision investigators examine the scene, and motorists have been advised to avoid the area entirely - taking alternative routes where possible.
The road remained closed as of 12.30pm today.

The force has appealed for witnesses to come forward.
