A woman has died after being struck by a lorry in a horror collision in Co Kildare.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident on the M7 southbound between J12 Newbridge and J13 Kildare shortly after 12.30pm today.
The female pedestrian, aged in her 40s, was seriously injured in the collision and was removed to University Hospital Tallaght, where she died.
A garda spokesman said: "The scene of the collision is been examined by Forensic Collision Investigators and the motorway has now fully reopened to traffic.
"Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed this collision to come forward. They are particularly appealing to any motorists with video footage (dashcam) recorded on the M7 between J12 Newbridge and J13 Kildare at the time of the collision, to make it available to them.
