A woman has died after being struck by a car in a residential area in Meath.
The fatal collision involving a car and a pedestrian happened in the Kilcarn Court area of Navan around 1.25pm today.
The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Gardai are currently at the scene and have have shut the road awaiting forensic collision investigators. Local diversions are in place.
A witness appeal has been issued to anyone who was in the area or has camera footage.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 1:25pm on Wednesday, 16th November, 2022, in the Kilcarn Court area of Navan, County Meath.
“Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Kilcarn Court area between 1pm and 1:45pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.”
