Woman dies after being hit by lorry in Broxburn

A woman has died after being hit by a lorry in Broxburn.

The incident happened on East Main Street, which has been closed in both directions while inquiries are ongoing.

Another woman involved in the collision has been taken to St John's Hospital.

A Police Scotland statement read: “We can confirm that a woman has died after a collision in East Main Street, Broxburn.

Man arrested for causing disturbance and vandalising property as armed cops rush to incident in Gourock 

“Two female pedestrians were involved in a collision with a lorry & one died at the scene. The other has been taken to hospital.

“Inquiries are ongoing & the road is closed in both directions.”

The Scottish ambulance service have confirmed: “We received a call at 1121 hours on Friday 5th April to attend an incident on East Main Street, Broxburn.

"We dispatched two ambulances, our trauma team and special operations response to the scene and one patient was taken to St John’s Hospital.”
