A woman has died following an alleged domestic violence-related attack in Sydney on the weekend.
On Saturday, emergency services were called to a unit on Morehead Street in Redfern just after 4:30pm.
At the unit, they found Lauren Hopkins, 47, unresponsive and with head injuries. It’s alleged she was attacked by her son Mitchell Hopkins, per 9News.
Paramedics treated her at the scene and she was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.
However, she succumbed to her injuries on Monday evening, NSW Police said.

Mitchell Hopkins was arrested at the scene and taken to Mascot Police Station, where he was charged with causing grievous bodily harm to person with intent (DV).
The 30-year-old appeared via video link as his matter was briefly mentioned at a Parramatta court on Saturday. He didn’t apply for bail.
He remains before the courts and is expected to undergo a mental health assessment. His next court date is slated for July 10.
