A 49-year-old woman died Thursday, a day after she was involved in a vehicle crash in Lawndale on the West Side.

About 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, Samantha Lee was driving west on Roosevelt Road when it is believed she had a medical emergency causing her to drive into oncoming traffic in the 4200 block of West Roosevelt Road, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Lee struck a vehicle driven by a 63-year-old man, police said. She was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital where her condition was stabilized.

Lee, of Logan Square, died in the hospital a day later from complications of multiple injuries received in a motor vehicle crash, the medical examiner’s office said. Her death has been ruled an accident.
