Woman died from blood clot after taking contraceptive pill

An inquest is being held into the death of a teaching assistant who suffered a blood clot on her lung after taking the contraceptive pill.

Fallan Kurek, 21, died in hospital in May last year after being found collapsed at her home in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

Miss Kurek, who doctors said had suffered a pulmonary embolism, is reported to have been taking the pill for just 25 days to regulate her periods.
