Woman deliberately runs 49 red lights in ex's Audi car in revenge bid after he left her

A raging woman was arrested in China after deliberately running through 49 red lights with her ex's Audi to spite him for leaving her for another woman, reports claim.

According to state-run Chinese newspaper The Global Times, a man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of provoking trouble after racking up 50 traffic offences over a two-day driving marathon.

The pair ran through 49 red lights and committed one speeding offence before being stopped by the police.

Police in Shaoxing, East China's Zhejiang Province, launched an investigation and found the car had been rented by a man surnamed Chen from the car owner Qian, who was later found to have once dated the woman, surnamed Lou.

Chen said he had only rented the car for a man named as Zhu, who was driving the car.

Zhu then confessed to the police he had rented the Audi in a bid to go out with Lou.

The news outlet reports that Lou had told him she would go out with him on a date if he sought revenge for her in such a way.

It later emerged that Lou and Qian had previously dated and Lou wanted to make him pay for the fact that he had left her for another woman.
