A female has died after receiving a number of injuries in an apartment in Dublin City Centre overnight.
The incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday morning at 3:40am in an apartment in the Bonham Street area.
The woman in her 30s was taken to St James's Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
A man also in his 30s has been arrested in connection with this incident.
He is currently detained in Kevin Street Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Bridgefoot Street remains closed as Gardai deal with the ongoing investigation.
