Woman completely transforms staircase using one eBay item

Spending more time than ever at home has seen many people trying their hands at new projects, including DIY and crafts.

For many, it's been doing up different rooms and giving them a completely new look.

One woman has transformed her staircase during lockdown, bringing her home some bling at the same time.

Samantha Bradley, 35, took her run-down stairs and gave them the ultimate makeover, using one specific item from eBay - mirrored tiles.

Samantha told money-saving community LatestDeals.co.uk: “I've always had a creative mind, and I’m always coming up with quirky ways to upcycle or transform things from drab to fab.

"During lockdown I moved from a refuge back into the home I'd brought my three children up in.

“I wasn't able to work due to restrictions as I work in gyms. My mental health took a huge hit as I use my job and helping others as therapy.

“So I ploughed myself into making the shell of a house I moved back to into a home. I was on a budget due to being unable to work, but I had my creative and resourceful brain to use.”

Samantha said her aim was to make her staircase a statement piece in her home and that the moment she found the mirrored tiles she knew they were perfect.

She added: “Instantly, I knew they'd work as a backdrop for my stairs, and tie in with the white and grey theme of the house.

“I bought the tiles off eBay, stuck these to some old laminate flooring and nailed them to the stairs.

“I then used leftover carpet from offcuts from my upstairs for the treads of the stairs.

"The whole project cost me around £140, with £105 of that being the tiles.

“The tiles cost £105, the beading was £25, the adhesive was around £10 and I used leftover laminate and carpet I already had in the house."
