Woman completely transforms dull, dark kitchen for under £100 with B&M bargains

Renovating any room in your house isn't just a time-consuming task, but an expensive one too.

But it might be possible to completely transform rooms for a lot less than you think.

Margaret Douglas managed to redo her kitchen for less than £100 - and it's unrecognisable.

She used a number of bargain products from B&M, The Range and Amazon for her incredible make over, and the finished result has inspired others to do the same.

She said: "I moved in back in August and finally managed to get this done by doing little bits at a time!

"Main aim was to brighten it up and I’m so happy with it. Total cost was £90ish."

In Margaret's before pictures her kitchen was furnished with wooden cabinet doors, a black tile splash back and black countertops.

Although it was modern, the area was dull due to the dark colour scheme and dim lights.

But once she was finished with it, the kitchen looked much brighter, airy and open - it's amazing what a lick of paint can do.

Over a few months Margaret gave the kitchen a new lease of life (Facebook/Extreme Couponing and Bargain Uk)
And the entire project cost less than £100 (Facebook/Extreme Couponing and Bargain Uk)

She painted the doors white, the walls a light grey - very trendy at the moment - and spruced up the counter tops with light wood sticky back plastic.

When it came to painting the cupboards, Margaret gave them a really good clean instead of sanding them and went straight in with a mini roller as it made the job "10 times faster."

All of the product she purchased were either from B&M, The Range or Amazon (Facebook/Extreme Couponing and Bargain Uk)

One 750ml can of the Rustoleum satin finish cupboard paint in the colour cotton did three coats on the front of the doors and one coat on the inside.

Margaret shared her transformation to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Uk group on Facebook, and avid diyers were blown away by her progress.

In the comment section one woman asked Margaret which colour paint she used for her walls with which she revealed: "I wish I could tell you but I just mixed white and black until I got what I wanted."

And to get those gorgeous, sleek work tops Margaret simply covered her existing sides with DC Fix sticky back plastic.

Another person asked: "How on earth did you do this join, it's really good" so Margaret explained that: "masking tape was my best friend when doing this. I put down a rectangle piece of dc fix as normal then used masking tape as a guide to cut off the pieces I didn’t need."

To finish it off she also added new accessories from B&M and The Range, such as new light fittings, cupboard door handles and a new set of rose gold knives.
