Cleaning can feel like a chore at the best of times, but when faced with a kitchen that hasn’t been cleaned in five years, most of us would think it was impossible to restore to sparkling.
But one woman on TikTok saw what has been claimed to be the “dirtiest kitchen in Europe” as a challenge and decided to scrub it from top to bottom – without charging the owner a penny.
Auri, who posts under the username @aurikatariina, shared a video of herself cleaning the kitchen and claimed she saved the homeowner around $15,000 (£11,000) in cleaning fees by doing it for free.
The woman, from Finland, said she was sponsored by cleaning tools company Scrub Daddy, who paid for her flights and hotel stay while she got to work and said she was more than happy to help the woman who owned the house.

She wrote on her video: “This is the dirtiest kitchen in Europe, and I love it.
“Cleaning this home would have cost $15,000, but I cleaned it for free.
“Scrub Daddy sponsored my flights and hotels so I could go and help this girl.
“The best home cleaning ever!”
The video shows rubbish piled high in every corner of the kitchen, with wrappers and bags covering the countertops and the floor.
There were dozens of empty eggshells on the stove, as well as baking trays that hadn’t been washed in years.
At the end of the video, Auri showed a before and after shot of the kitchen – leaving her 5.5 million followers stunned at the sparkling white cabinets and spotless tiled floor.
The video has become a viral hit and has been viewed over 38 million times, with commenters praising Auri for going out of her way to help others.
One person wrote: “So many people don’t understand how this could happen when it’s seriously so easy it’s scary. You really helped someone and that didn’t go unnoticed.”
While another said: “You are so kind helping people in need.”
And a third posted: “You are a hero. My mum was disabled and mentally ill. We couldn’t afford this. I’m so glad you help those who can’t help themselves.”
Others were simply amazed by her cleaning skills, as some claimed she must be “magic”.
Someone said: “That is not home cleaning. What you did is that you performed a miracle.”
As someone else added: “My mouth dropped open in astonishment at the end of that video. I am impressed with your skills.”
