Woman claims you can tell what a baby wants by the type of cry they're doing

Babies make lots of different noises to communicate.

But trying to work out what each noise means can be challenging, especially when your baby is crying.

Kate, an aspiring obstetrician-gynaecologist, is here to explain what they mean.

In a TikTok video that has been viewed more than 4.7 million times, Kate said: "Guys I learned in my infant development class once that you can tell what a baby wants by the type of cry that they're doing."

Before admitting: "I don't know how accurate this is but I learned it in a college class at a credible university so take that as you will."

She then shared a video she was shown of an interview from The Oprah Winfrey Show which featured Priscilla Dunstan, who spoke about the "secret language of babies."

Priscilla said that if your baby makes a "Neh" noise they're hungry, "Owh" says they're sleepy as it based on a yawn reflex, "Heh" = discomfort, "Eair" signals your baby has lower gas and "Eh" is the noise for a burp.

Since being posted, the video has racked up more than one million likes and thousands of comments from viewers who said they learned something new.

"I feel like a horrible mom," admitted one woman, "I have such a hard time telling the difference."

Another said: "& they say babies don't come with instructions!"

Whilst a third commented: "It's unreal how accurate this is."

"Me saving this like I'm going to remember when I have a child," wrote a fourth.

Someone else in the comments added: "I'm a child development teacher and I work with infants and yes this is accurate."
