Woman claims to have cured her acne by letting pet cat to lick her face everyday

A woman claims her unique facial treatment cured her acne problem - by letting her cat to lick her face every day.

Dinda said she had been enjoying the bespoke cleansing routine for three months and showed a reduction in acne on her face.

The unusual treatment began with her ginger tabby cat Nia's habit of sitting on Dinda's textbook when she studies at home and licking her face at the same time.

Video taken last Friday shows Nia grooming Dinda's face with its hairy tongue.

Dinda, from Indonesia, claimed her face shows signs of improvement after the daily licking.

Her sister Debi, who filmed the bizarre facial, said the feline would never lick anyone else's face but only Dinda's.

However, a study published in Harvard Medical School shows cat saliva can deliver bacteria that can cause human diseases.

The saliva 'may contain organisms that can cause illness if they penetrate the skin or come in contact with the mucous membranes of the mouth, nose or eyes'.

If the germs are in contact inside a human, the bacteria can 'cause skin infections, flu-like symptoms such as fever and chills or even more serious diseases such as meningitis '.
