Woman claims she's divorced ghost husband because he tried to kill her by giving her sepsis

As if having a ghost pirate husband isn't... unusual... enough, a woman has claimed that she has now divorced said ghost because he tried to kill her - by giving her sepsis .

Amanda Teague, 47, said that she married 300-year-old pirate Jack back in 2016 after he died in the 1700s. He was executed over his thieving on the high seas.

Appearing on This Morning today, she told hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford that their relationship turned bad just a few months after they wed.

"I started to get some very weird health ailments," she said and revealed she began to ask around over issues regarding 'spirit attachments'.

"My health was getting worse and worse," Amanda explained. "I got sepsis and almost died."

It was then that Amanda realised that he was like an "energy vampire"

"[Ghosts] they need an energy source and he was bleeding me dry," she said.

Amanda, of Downpatrick, Northern Ireland, told the earlier this month that she had even cut off sex with the ghost in order to see if that helped.

She said: "Once I stopped having sexual contact with Jack, the abscesses started to improve.

"And I'd say that was literally the best three weeks I'd had since we got married.

"So anyway, one night, a friend of mine got married to her spiritual partner and Jack and I ended up being intimate.

"The very next day, the abscess was back with a vengeance.

"So then I started to get really concerned."

"There were lot of red flags and after the operation I knew that it was him," Amanda said. "I had an exorcism last December."

She added: "I'm really proud that I've managed to get my life back together."
