Woman claims she 'found spider' in McDonald's meal while watching I'm a Celeb

A woman from Bristol said she felt ‘gross’ after finding what she believes to be a spider in her McDonalds order.

Raegan Thomas, 21, ordered some festive cheese melt dippers last night (November 18) from her local Maccies in Hengrove.

She picked up her food from the popular fast food chain and brought it home to eat.

She was taking a boomerang of her food to upload to Instagram, when she noticed something black on one of the bites.

Raegan claims she found an insect on her food after she had eaten some of it.

McDonald's said it believes this part of the product was burnt - and did not have an insect on it.

Reagan told Bristol Live: “I ordered a McDonalds to eat while watching I’m A Celebrity [Get Me Out of Here].'

“I ended up facing my own trial … so that was interesting!” she said.

Raegan said the spider was “shrivelled” and stuck to the outside of one of the bites.

The festive cheese melt dippers are a new addition to the McDonalds menu and were released yesterday.

“Everyone was going on about them, and I was really excited” she said.

Raegan said she was “left really disappointed” as she has never had a problem with her local McDonalds before.

Raegan had ordered a Mcflurry and drink too, but following her encounter she said she couldn’t face touching her remaining items as the smell of McDonalds “made her feel sick.”

The Hengrove branch has given Raegan a £5 voucher and another box of cheese melt dippers.

A spokesperson from McDonalds said: “Food quality and safety are of the utmost importance to us and we place great emphasis on quality control, following rigorous standards in order to avoid any imperfections.

"From the picture, we believe this to be a small piece of the product that has burnt. However, as soon as the restaurant team were made aware, they offered an apology and a full refund.

"The customer was asked to return the item to enable the restaurant to investigate further, however this was not possible. We understand the customer is currently in contact with our Customer Services Team.”
