Woman claims McDonald's hashbrown caused her to come out in hives all over body

A woman who claims she has no known allergies was shocked to come out in hives after she says she ate a McDonald's hash brown.

Beka took to Twitter and posted a video of her skin which was red and covered in a rash.

She wrote: “So I went to @McDonaldsUK and had a hash brown... then... 5 minutes later ... don’t eat hash browns from there lol I have no allergies so yeah just don’t.”

She later addd: “It was all over my arm, chest, legs and the burning feeling was insane.”

After a few people enquired how she was Beka posted again to say: “All gone! Thank God for Antihistamine lol thank you guys for checking in me!

“McDonald’s is now investigating the issue and hopefully gets sorted.”

Hash browns do not contain any of the 14 most common allergens, according to their ingredients information on their website.

They are however cooked in the same fryer used for donut sticks that contain wheat and milk, so there is a risk of cross-contamination.

McDonald's told the Mirror: "We are very sorry to hear about this customer’s experience.

"As soon as our restaurant team were made aware, they immediately started a restaurant-level investigation.

"We are in contact with the customer and will continue to liaise with them on this matter.”
