Woman claiming to be Madeleine McCann set to appear on popular TV show

A 21-year-old who believes she could be Madeleine McCann is set to appear on a popular American TV show.

Julia Wendell, from Poland, will be interviewed by TV host Dr Phil, reports the Daily Record. This comes after she claimed she could be Madeleine, who went missing while on holiday with her family in 2007.

She's currently waiting on the results of three DNA samples and a genetic test. Private investigator and medium Dr Fia Johansson, who is helping Julia, revealed on Instagram the 21-year-old is due to appear on Dr Phil, which will be broadcast on Monday.

She wrote on Instagram: "I’m very happy for Julia getting a platform to courageously speak up, shedding light on her violent and abusive past and hopefully bringing her closer to justice!"

Dr Johansson shared a preview of the clip which aired in Canada, however the footage had no sound. In the clip, Julia says: "I believe that I am Madeleine McCann. We are waiting for results."

During Dr Johansson's previous Instagram live, which lasted nearly 40 minutes, she claimed she will be able to use Julia's DNA test results to see if she is actually the daughter of Gerry and Kate McCann.

She said: “A lot of you ask why Kate and Gerry (are not involved). There is no need – Madeleine McCann's DNA is already there.

“They don't need to get involved with media press. When the the DNA test coming, which I am really badly waiting for and checking every day the status of it, we will match with a DNA test of (Madeleine) McCann.

“[She could also match] anyone else out there that looking for their kid that may [be] missing at that time.”

Julia has reportedly been staying with Dr Johansson in the US for the last few weeks while the DNA tests were carried out. Due to fears over her safety, she has not disclosed where Julia is currently living.

The 21-year-old has previously stated she 'really believes' she could be Kate and Gerry McCann's long-lost child after recognising the mum's voice.

Speaking to RadarOnline she revealed: "I want to say something to Kate McCann: I listened to a song that you sang to your daughter Madeleine. When I hear your voice – from movies, from interviews – I feel like I really know this voice, your voice. I really believe that I could be Madeleine."

She said she wanted to be part of their family and hopes the DNA test will come back positive. Julia added: "I have a message to McCann's family – I want to say that I really believe I can be Madeleine, your daughter."
