Woman facing murder charge after Perth teenage street brawl

A car allegedly ploughed into a group of teenagers on Eucalyptus Boulevard, killing one.

A 20-year-old woman has been charged with murder after she allegedly drove into a group of teenagers and killed a 17-year-old boy in the Perth suburb of Canning Vale.

The boy, from Baldivis, died and five others were left in hospital on Thursday after what allegedly started out as an organised fight between two rival groups of teenagers.

It ended when a car ploughed into a group of boys aged between 16 and 17 as they were waiting at a bus stop on Eucalyptus Boulevard.

A red vehicle was left stranded on the road at the scene with its windscreen shattered.

In addition to the murder charge, the woman from Canning Vale is accused of attempting to kill a 17-year-old boy from Byford, a 16-year-old boy from Lakelands, a 16-year-old boy from Wellard and a 16-year-old boy from Beckenham.

She will appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Police said detectives were continuing to investigate earlier incidents at a local park in Canning Vale and a nearby McDonald's fast food outlet.

Two youths were stabbed during the fighting, but neither received fatal injuries.

"Detectives are keen to speak with anyone who has knowledge of these events," a police spokeswoman said.

"The investigation is ongoing and police urge those involved, their families, friends and associates to cooperate with detectives."

Officers returned to the scene of the crash on Friday to speak to witnesses.

WA's Education Department has confirmed that students from Canning Vale College were involved in or witnessed the fighting.

A spokeswoman said support including counselling services was being offered to students.

Earlier, police ruled out any gang involvement in the fighting.

"This was unrelated young people that have ended up having a disagreement and it's just ended up spilling out and becoming bigger than it really needed to be," Detective Sergeant Matt Lewis said.

"No gangs were involved with this at all."
