Woman charged with murder bid after Mercedes smashes into Scots building leaving four people seriously injured

Police have charged a woman with attempted murder after a luxury car smashed into a building in Inverness.

Four people were taken to hospital with serious injuries after the Mercedes E220 collided with the property at around 9.10pm on January 21.

Emergency services were called to the scene at the junction of Grant Street and Lochalsh Road where they discovered the wrecked car and damaged building.

Pictures taken a short time later show a wall of the property had been reduced to rubble.

A woman and three men - aged 32, 38, and 42 - were taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment to their serious but non life-threatening injuries.

Officers initially appealed for help from members of the public who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the crash.

Police Scotland has now confirmed that a 43-year-old female has been charged with attempted murder following the serious road crash.

She is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
