Shannon Jeffrey has been charged with murdering Ballarat mother Kobie Parfitt. (AAP)

A woman has refused to show her face in court, charged with murdering Ballarat mother Kobie Parfitt.

Shannon Jeffrey, 32, is the second person charged with murdering Ms Parfitt, who was last seen alive on April 28 last year.

Human remains were found in a mine shaft at Snake Valley on December 22 during the search for Ms Parfitt's body.

Jeffrey's lawyer, Maddie Carroll, told Ballarat Magistrates Court on Monday the woman did not want to appear for the filing hearing.

She was already in custody when charged with murder.

Jeffrey will remain in custody ahead of a committal mention in May.

Brendon Prestage appeared in court in December, charged with Ms Parfitt's murder.

He is also due back in court in May.
