A woman who flew from Brisbane to Perth, apparently to go to the AFL grand final on Saturday, is now in custody charged with breaching COVID-19 directions.
Police say the 29-year-old submitted an application on Tuesday to enter WA to go to the game but was told before leaving that she would be required to spend two weeks in hotel quarantine.
Despite this information, she arrived in Perth on Wednesday and was again told she would need to quarantine and would not be able to go to the grand final.
It will be alleged the woman failed to attend her nominated hotel accommodation and instead went to two other hotels in the company of a man known to her.
Police said it was further alleged that the woman failed to declare that she was subject to a self-quarantine direction and that she was not wearing a face mask during this time.
She was arrested and charged with one count of failing to comply with a direction and was expected to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday.
In an unrelated incident, a man and a woman, both aged 48, were charged with breaching directions over leaving their quarantine location after flying in from Queensland.
They were arrested while driving on the Goldfields Highway at Leonora.
They were taken into custody and were due to appear in Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court on Thursday.
