A 45-year-old woman has been charged in connection with an alleged bogus caller crime in Blantyre last week.
We told you how a woman allegedly pretended to be a district nurse carrying out a COVID-19 test in order to gain entry into her elderly victim's home before reportedly stealing a sum of cash.
The crook is said to have asked the pensioner for a urine sample whereupon she was left alone for a short period - it is then alleged she stole money from the woman's purse and made off.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland told Lanarkshire Live : "We can confirm that on May 18, a 45-year-old female was arrested and charged with alleged fraud for this offence and one other of a similar nature (also committed in the Blantyre area).
"We'd like to commend the work of the officers involved for their investigation and identification of the female."
