A woman has been charged with the murder of an elderly Melbourne man violently bashed while home alone.
Danielle Birchall was arrested on Tuesday morning over the death of 87-year-old Kon Kritikos after an attack at his Coburg property on November 11.
Mr Kritikos died from his injuries on November 24, with police saying they were close to cracking the case last month.
The 45-year-old Kurunjang woman was interviewed by detectives on Tuesday and later charged with one count of murder.
Birchall's case was briefly mentioned before Melbourne Magistrates Court and is next scheduled to return to court on July 27.
