Woman charged in connection with serious assault on man in Helensburgh

A woman has been charged over a serious assault on a man - which saw the victim rushed to hospital.

The 20-year-old was detained in connection with the altercation in Old Luss Road, Helensburgh, at around 10.15pm on Monday, May 4.

The victim, 31, was taken to hospital following the incident, and a 27-year-old man was also injured, but did not require hospital treatment.

Police Scotland initially said the 27-year-old and the woman had been arrested in connection with the incident and that an investigation was underway.

However the force has now revealed that the woman was charged, with a hearing due to take place at Paisley Sheriff Court on March 6.

A Police Scotland statement read: "A 20-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault in Old Luss Road, Helensburgh.

"The 20-year-old woman is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 6 May, 2020. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
