A woman has been charged after two men were killed while working on a broken down bus on Qld's Sunshine Coast.

Aaron Pitt, 25, and Lleyton Bartlett, 22, were repairing the bus on the Nambour Connection Road at Woombye on Thursday when they were struck by a passing car.

The pair suffered critical injuries and later died at Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

A 43-year-old Warana woman has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death whilst adversely affected by an intoxicating substance.

She is due to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on June 24.

The two men were mechanics for bus operator CDC Queensland, who described them as highly regarded team members and said the company was working to support their family and friends.
