Woman charged after teenager injured in hit and run in Glasgow

A woman has been charged in connection with a hit and run incident that left a teenager seriously injured in Glasgow .

The 31-year-old has been charged with road traffic offences following the collision on the A8, Alexandra Parade , near to its junction with Alexandra Park on Thursday, November 28 at around 7.45am.

The teen was knocked off his motorcycle after colliding with a BMW car.

Paramedics rushed the 18-year-old to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he was treated for serious injuries.

A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal with the woman set to appear in court at a later date.

A Police Scotland statement read: "Police Scotland can confirm that a woman has been charged following a hit and run on the A8, Alexandra Parade, near to its junction with Alexandra Park.

"The incident happened around 7.45am on Thursday 28 November 2019 , when a car failed to stop following a collision with a motorcyclist.

"A 31-year-old woman has been charged with road traffic offences and will appear at court at a later date. A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
