Woman charged after man, 21, dies following fatal Erskine attack

A 27-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the death of a man in Erskine.

Police had been called to the town's Park Drive area following reports of an assault on New Year's Day.

A 21-year-old man was found dead at the scene. The man has now been named as Darren Russell from Erskine.

An 18-year-old man has also been charged with assault.

The Renfrewshire Police Division tonight confirmed: "A 27 year-old woman has been charged in connection with the death of a 21-year-old man in Park Drive, Erskine on Friday 1 January 2021.

"A 18 year-old man has been charged with assault.

"A 21 year-old man has been released without charge.

"The woman and man are expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday 5 January 2021."
