A woman who was charged following a coronavirus protest in Liverpool city centre has appeared in court today.
Anna Callagher appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court charged with failing to comply with coronavirus regulations and obstructing an officer in the execution of their duty.
Callagher, 29, appeared in the dock this morning wearing a grey jumper.
Alan Currums, prosecuting, explained that the Crown Prosecution Service would be offering no evidence regarding the charge of failing to comply with coronavirus regulations.
As a result that charge was discontinued.
Callagher, of Westbourne Grove, Hessle in Hull, denied the charge of obstructing an officer in the execution of their duty on Saturday on Renshaw Street in the city centre where there was a police presence amid coronavirus protests.
She was today represented by Paul Mullin of Quinn Melville Solicitors.
Today's hearing was adjourned until May 7 when Callagher will face a trial at Liverpool Magistrates' Court.
Callagher was released on unconditional bail.
