Woman chained up by her evil parents shares moment she saw outside world for first time

A woman who was chained up by her sick and twisted parents has opened up about the moment she escaped from "hell" and saw the outside world for the first time.

Jordan Turpin was just 17 when she made the 911 call to police in January 2018, helping to free her 12 other siblings from the clutches of their evil parents.

She managed to flee the California home in the US via a window and told police that she and her siblings were being abused by evil parents David and Louise Turpin.

Speaking to ABC reporter Diane Sawyer, Jordan said she was walked in the road after escaping as she “didn’t know about the sidewalks”.

She said: “You’re supposed to be on the sidewalk but I’d never been out there" and added that she struggled to dial 911 to call the cops because she was shaking so much.

She said: “I think it was us coming close to death so many times. It was literally a now or never.

"If something happened to me, at least I died trying.”

Jordan told the dispatcher: “Um hello? I just ran away from home because I live in a family of 15. OK? Can you hear me? And we have abusing parents. Did you hear that?"

She went on to describe how the cruel parents would pull out their children's hair and throw them across the room.

Jordan's elder sister Jennifer also spoke out about their ordeal and said the "only word" she could use to call their circumstances is "hell".

The sisters told of how the kids lived off bologna and peanut butter sandwiches while their parents ate takeaway. They also weren’t allowed to exercise and the parents tormented the kids by leaving out apple and pumpkin pies.

It was previously revealed in court that the kids were only allowed to shower once a year.

Officers who entered the horror home found two of the children in chains shackled to the bed and found a chain dangling from a bunk bed.

David, then 57, and Louise, 50, were sentenced to 25 years in prison for the abuse and imprisonment of their kids after finally being caught out in January 2018.

They pleaded guilty to 14 counts including cruelty to an adult-dependent, child cruelty, torture and false imprisonment.

Riverside County Deputy District Attorney Kevin Beecham revealed in 2020 that the siblings are “moving on with their lives”.

He told PEOPLE: “Some of them are living independently, living in their apartment and have jobs and are going to school. Some volunteer in the community. They go to church.”
