Shauna, from south Manchester, said: "He just saw my balloon asked whose birthday it was.

"I told him and he didn’t say anything so I jokingly said ‘aren’t you going to wish me happy birthday?’ and we had a little joke.

"Then he walked away and ran back said 'I’ve paid for your whole bill, happy birthday have a good day' and ran away.

"I tried to run after him but he disappeared too quickly. I just wish I would have had the chance to say thank you. What a wonderful man.

"It was the most selfless, thoughtful and kindest thing anybody has ever done for me!

"I’m just so sad I didn’t get to thank him.

"Me and all my family were left speechless! Definitely a 21st birthday to remember, and I’m eternally grateful."
