Woman brought to 'tears' after group of teens approach homeless man

A woman from Bootle was brought to "tears" when she noticed a group of teens approaching a homeless man on Saturday.

Maria was at a set of traffic lights outside Lidl on Marsh Lane in Bootle when she noticed three teenage boys approach a man outside the shop.

Maria admitted to at first stereotyping the boys, but was left shocked when they appeared to talk to the man and then give him "money and food" out of their backpacks.

Maria was left in tears at the kind actions of the three boys, with her saying how their parents should be "proud".

She took to Facebook and said: "A little appreciation post for our younger generation:

"I was at the lights at Lidl yesterday at around 5.30pm. I saw three teenage boys hanging around by a man who looked like he was begging or homeless outside the Lidl entrance.

"At first I stereotyped these boys and thought 'I hope they are not bothering him' but as I continued to watch I noticed that these boys were just talking with the man, they then gave the man money and food out of their own backpacks.

"It brought me to tears how much of good people these boys were growing into. If these were your sons, be proud! Because if it was my son I would be. Well done"

People were quick to comment on the post.

Lisa commented: "You only ever hear about the bad ones - thankyou for sharing this x"

Ruby wrote: "It’s great to read this. We often only read about the thing young people are getting wrong."
